The Estadio de Bata, the largest stadium in Equatorial Guinea, underwent timely modifications before the commencement of the 2012 African Cup of Nations. These alterations involved the incorporation of approximately 1,800 BESISTA® tension rod systems, which served as stabilizing and bracing assemblies.

Situated in close proximity to the coast, the stadium now offers covered seating for over 35,000 spectators. In addition to the football pitch, the venue includes track-and-field facilities, an indoor pool, and a hotel.

The tension rod systems were directly supplied by the manufacturer, BESISTA®, without the involvement of intermediaries. BESISTA® played an early role in the design and sizing of the steel construction, providing drawings, technical data, and technical approval. This collaboration helped optimize the utilization and cost-effectiveness of the BESISTA® rod systems.

By directly communicating with the design team, potential errors and misunderstandings were eliminated, while the delivery time for the hot-dip galvanized BESISTA® tension rod systems was reduced. BESISTA®'s packaging concept further enhanced efficiency: each package included installation instructions in multiple languages, ensuring maximum safety during the assembly process.
